Skills Developing Centre
The Skills Developing Center operates under the umbrella of SDC Karachi, which was founded in 1995 by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Government of Pakistan. This foundation came about under the National Training Ordinance of 1980, with an amendment in 2002. The establishment of SDC Karachi was a collaborative initiative supported by major international and national stakeholders, including the World Bank, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP). These partners aimed to address the skills gap in Pakistan by promoting market-driven technical and vocational education.

The Skill Development Council Karachi was established in 1995 by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Government of Pakistan, under the National Training Ordinance 1980, amended Ordinance 2002. In collaboration with the World Bank, ILO, and EFP, its goal is to make Technical & Vocational Training Programs more flexible, demand-driven, and cost-effective, with maximum employers’ participation. Operating as an employer-led autonomous organization based on a public-private partnership model, the Council has trained approximately 100,000 individuals across various sectors over the past 30 years. Many of these individuals have secured decent employment in different sectors.
The Skills Developing Center is an advanced training hub established as the official campus of the Skill Development Council (SDC) Karachi.
